Armed Forces Community HQ

Armed Forces Community HQ is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting all those who are currently or have previously served in the UK Armed Forces, their families and carers through safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed support. Founded in 2018 and proudly serving as Founders of the Forces Wellbeing Collective, AFCHQ delivers peer-led programmes that inspire connection, improve wellbeing, and unlock better life chances. With lived experience at its core, AFCHQ stands for making lasting change in the Armed Forces community.

Ally Psychotherapy

Ally Psychotherapy Services CIC, founded by a British Army veteran, delivers trauma-informed, person-centred mental health support to those affected by trauma, including veterans and underserved communities. Through therapy, workshops, and outreach, Ally promotes healing, resilience, and wellbeing. As a Founder of the Forces Wellbeing Collective, they are committed to ethical, accessible care and building a stronger, more connected support network.

Broughton House Veteran Care Village

Broughton House in Salford has provided exceptional care for the Armed Forces community since 1916. A modern Veteran Care Village, it offers residential, nursing and dementia care alongside wellbeing programmes, in-house physiotherapy, and a vibrant social calendar. With specialist dementia support and holistic facilities, Broughton House ensures every resident lives with dignity, purpose and community.

Burnley FC in the Community

Burnley FC in the Community is the charitable arm of Burnley FC, offering sport-based support programmes that connect veterans across East Lancashire. Their innovative approach combats isolation and boosts wellbeing, acting as a trusted gateway into wider services. They’ve united 20 sports charities regionally, developing a robust referral network and setting a new standard in community-based Armed Forces support.

College for Military Veterans and Emergency Services (CMVES)

Part of UCLan, CMVES empowers veterans and their families through education and personal development. With a national reach, CMVES bridges the gap between military life and civilian learning, supporting over 600 veterans to build skills and confidence. Their “Education to Empower Wellbeing” toolkit helps both learners and educators to navigate pathways to progress and personal growth.

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (ELHT)

ELHT is a leading healthcare provider delivering high-quality acute and community services across East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen. With 10,000 staff and five hospital sites, ELHT is committed to innovation, efficiency and compassionate care. The Trust supports the Armed Forces community through tailored services that meet complex physical and mental health needs with dignity and professionalism.

One Vision Uniformed Services CIC

One Vision supports current and former military and emergency services personnel, including their families, across South Lakes and North Lancashire. With trauma-informed counselling and holistic therapies, they address PTSD, C-PTSD and vicarious trauma. Created by people with lived experience, One Vision offers a safe, understanding space to heal, reconnect, and reclaim wellbeing.

Pure Innovations

Pure Innovations supports people with disabilities or health needs to lead purposeful, connected lives. With over 30 years’ experience across Greater Manchester, they champion diversity, deliver life skills, and remove barriers to employment and inclusion. Through personalised support, Pure helps individuals build confidence, grow independence, and become active, valued members of their communities.

Step Together Volunteering

Step Together is a national charity helping vulnerable individuals rebuild their lives through volunteering. Working with young people, those involved in the justice system and the Armed Forces community, Step Together offers long-term, one-to-one support. Their coaching approach builds confidence, skills, and self-worth—empowering individuals to move forward with hope and resilience.

Tom Harrison House

Tom Harrison House offers a unique, trauma-informed residential addiction recovery programme tailored to veterans and emergency services personnel. Based in Liverpool, their 12-week programme is built around shared lived experience and strong therapeutic foundations. The first of its kind in the UK, it provides clients with a safe, empowering path to recovery in a community that understands.
