When a veteran reaches out for help, it’s rarely because they have options left.
It’s because they’ve run out of food.
Because they’re facing homelessness.
Because they can’t afford to travel to a vital hospital appointment.
Because their washing machine, cooker or fridge has broken and they simply don’t have the money to replace it.
Because they are in crisis.
At Armed Forces Community HQ, we believe that no veteran or member of the Armed Forces community should ever face these challenges alone.
Last year alone, we spent over £35,000 providing immediate emergency support to vulnerable members of the Armed Forces community.
Your donation will help us provide rapid, life-changing support, including:
- Emergency accommodation for those at risk of homelessness.
- Emergency food parcels, supermarket vouchers and hot meals.
- Essential clothing for veterans facing hardship.
- White goods such as cookers, fridges and washing machines.
- Brown goods and household essentials.
- Emergency travel costs for medical appointments and urgent family situations.
- Crisis grants that provide immediate financial relief when there is nowhere else to turn.
Our welfare fund exists so that when the call comes, we can say “Yes, we can help.”
But we can’t do it without you.
On 23rd July Army veteran Richy Thrower is taking on an extraordinary challenge to support this vital cause. Carrying a 25kg backpack, he will walk 36 miles from Crewe to Armed Forces Community HQ in Wigan to raise money for our Emergency Welfare Fund. Every painful mile represents the struggles many veterans face every single day—and his determination reflects the resilience of the Armed Forces community.
