All nine Greater Manchester Colleges have now signed the Armed Forces Covenant, pledging to support 16–19-year-old students from military families across the North West.
The initiative recognises the unique challenges service families face and ensures young people are not disadvantaged in their education due to service life.
As Mayor Andy Burnham said, “I hope other regions will take note and promote awareness of this forgotten cohort.”
This collaboration cements Greater Manchester’s reputation as a leader in inclusive education and community support.
