Supporting Veteran Mental Health & ADHD Awareness

In October, we recognised World Mental Health Day and ADHD Awareness Month, shining a light on the hidden challenges many in our Armed Forces community face.

Across the UK, veterans continue to experience higher rates of mental ill-health than the general population, with almost 1 in 3 likely to face common mental disorders such as depression or anxiety. PTSD affects around 7.4%, rising to nearly 1 in 10 among those who served in Iraq or Afghanistan.

At FWC, we’re committed to breaking stigma, building awareness, and improving access to support — so no one faces these challenges alone.

We also marked ADHD Awareness Month, reminding us that around 2.5 million people in England may be living with ADHD, many undiagnosed. Rising demand for assessments shows how vital it is to improve understanding, compassion, and timely access to support across both the NHS and Defence Medical Services.
